How to play Tee Box Shuffle

Your tee moves with your score — everyone starts on the middle tee; birdie moves you back, par keeps you there, bogey moves you up.

any game · a course with three rated tees

The rules

A tee rule that rides on any game. Judged on net scores by default, so a pop can save you a trip to the forward tee. Two styles: one tee at a time (middle to back, back to middle …) or straight to the back or front (the published Tee Box Shuffle). Holes count in the order your group plays them, so a shotgun start on 7 moves after 7. Every phone shows each player’s tee for the hole. Because tees change hole to hole, everyone plays off one rating: the forward, middle and back tees blended evenly.

Plays best: Groups that want a running game inside the round — every hole decides where you hit from next.

Play Tee Box Shuffle with Tangent

Pick Tee Box Shuffle in Game setup and Tangent does the rest: every player scores on their phone (or their Tangent app round fills the card), pops come from each player’s handicap and tee, the live board shows where everyone stands, and the money settles itself at the end — no spreadsheet, no math at the bar.

Players who play their round in the Tangent app don’t type a thing: the app keeps their card, and the live board adds tour-style stats — fairways, greens in regulation, putts, longest drive and the shot of the day by strokes gained.
