How to play Skins
Win a hole outright — no ties — and you win a skin. The skins pool splits by skins won at the end of the day.
any player count
The rules
Three rule flavors: Net only (pops count — the default), Gross only (no pops), and Gross beats Net (an outright low gross takes the hole; otherwise an outright low net does). A tied hole carries no skin — unless carryovers are on, in which case its value rolls to the next hole. Everyone in the pot is in skins by default; players can sit out. At settle-up the skins pool divides evenly across every skin won.
Plays best: Any money day — it keeps every hole interesting for every player, even after a blowup.
Play Skins with Tangent
Pick Skins in Game setup and Tangent does the rest: every player scores on their phone (or their Tangent app round fills the card), pops come from each player’s handicap and tee, the live board shows where everyone stands, and the money settles itself at the end — no spreadsheet, no math at the bar.
Players who play their round in the Tangent app don’t type a thing: the app keeps their card, and the live board adds tour-style stats — fairways, greens in regulation, putts, longest drive and the shot of the day by strokes gained.
